Barbie™ in the Pink Shoes: A little ballerina's dream come true

I have a confession to make.  I love Barbie™.   I played with Barbie™ all the time when I was growing up.  Well after other little girls may have put the doll away, I convinced my younger sister to play with me.  And honestly, one of the reasons I was so excited to have little girls of my own is so that I could play Barbie™ with them!  I love listening to my girls make up stories with their Barbie™ dolls and imagining they can be anything and do anything.  So, can you even imagine my excitement this past weekend when I got to take one of my daughters and her friend to the pre-screening of Barbie™ in the Pink Shoes DVD at Canada’s National Ballet School?

Two excited little girls dressed in their tutus, met real ballerinas, met Barbie™ herself and then got to munch on popcorn and watch Barbie™ dance in classic ballets – like Giselle and Swan Lake.

I heard squeals and sighs from both of them.  I heard one of them say “that sounds like the music from Swan Lake”.  I watched their arms raise above their heads as they tried to dance in their seats.  And I saw them leap up at the end to dance just like Barbie™.   And we sat in an entire audience of little girls full of hopes and dreams, eyes glued to the screen.

So if you have a little girl who dreams of being a ballerina, meet me in line where I’ll be picking up a copy of Barbie™ in the Pink Shoes (available on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD) when it comes to stores tomorrow, February 26^th.  Oh, and I may just have to pick up a Barbie™ in the Pink Shoes as Kristyn Farraday® doll for myself (okay I’ll let the girls play too!) My little ballerinas will be dancing through my house and I’ll be humming along with them. 

And momstown Burlington will be hosting our very own Music and Motion event featuring  Barbie™ in the Pink Shoes on March 25th!  We'll have a ballet demo for boys and girls, crafts songs and more.... including a chance to win your very own copy of the DVD!
